Call me old-fasioned, call me Seattle-provincial, whatever, there seems to be a dearth of quiet restaurants in Seattle any more. Any of you Hounds in Seattle know moderately priced QUIET restaurants in Seattle proper. I don't want to have to go to Canlis or The Georgian Room for quiet ambience. I really miss the old days of Osteria La Spiga when it was on the corner of Broadway and East Union, especially on Monday nights when they'd have a live jazz trio, playing very softly in the background. I was appalled recently to read that Ethan Stowell actually turns up the music when he thinks "his" restaurant is too quiet. What a pompous ass with total disrespect for his clientele. Is it too much to ask for a peaceful, serene, (gasp) romantic dining experience?
So, any suggestions?
