Quiet Bar/Cafe Greenwich Village Saturday Night? (Tonight)

Caitlin Wheeler | Mar 31, 200105:58 PM     5

Hello all,
I'm meeting a friend on the corner of West 3rd and Macdougal St. and we would like to have coffee or a drink someplace that A) we can sit down (b) we don't have to scream over loud music or patrons to be heard and c) is in close walking distance. Please help.
Does anyone hate Greenwich village on weekends as much as I do? I would love a neighborhood bar or restaurant that isn't descended upon by the hordes (sorry if any of you are the hordes). I live here, I can't really go anyplace else if I just want to go someplace close. I have found myself going with friends numerous times to the CALIENTE CAB COMPANY simply because it's possible to get a seat and a drink there. Any thoughts on the topic?
