Came home for the weekend to celebrate my uncle's 75th. Only 1 meal out, last night after a rousing Scrabble game with my mom and her bf. Had to have some Q, and remembered my stepsiblings speaking favorably of Baker's Ribs.
We headed down to the Greenville avenue location and got there about an hour before closing. This might be my new fave in town. The smell of smoke hits you the minute you walk in the door. I went with my usual, sliced brisket and sausage. About the only negative was that the "sliced" brisket was not quite. The beef pretty much fell apart into a coarse chop. The brisket was moist despite being on the lean side, and the smoke flavor was deep and satisfying. I was burping smoke the rest of the evening, so that's an indicator of the real deal. All the sides looked excellent. I went with tater salad and mac & cheese, both of which were top notch. Mom green beans were yummy as was her corn/black bean salad. BF's beef stuffed baked potato contained a generous portion of beef and was deemed excellent as well. Add to that a choice array of bottled beers presented in a well iced chest and you've got a stellar Q experience by Dallas standards or lack thereof.
