Quick day trip to DC on the 22nd

ooowtfmate | Jul 30, 201506:38 PM     15

Hey guys, first time poster here, long time lurker. I'm originally a Los Angelian transplant to Philadelphia. I'll be taking a day trip to DC for the first time and want to dig in to the the great local eateries for the day.

My girlfriend and I are adventurous eaters. We prefer to go to a variety of places to try the "must gets" and share them. If I could hit up 2-3 places from 10AM to 6PM and then eat a lighter dinner around 7PM, that would be great! Preference to places that are local to Union Station or a short sub/train/Uber ride away.

I've done some reading and it seems as if Peri-Peri is a decent place to go to (probably gonna get 1/2 a chicken with the fries and... maybe peas?). For dinner, I'm considering Sushi Taro for the omakase but it may be too much food and is a a touch pricey (something like a $100pp omakase would be more within budget). Looked at Izakaya Seki but we've been to plenty of izakayas. Looking for a truly unique, memorable, and delicious experience! Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

Bonus points for suggestions on other things to check out in DC. Will probably check out the mall and Aerospace Museum as well. Thanks!
