several questions (a bit long)

My girlfriend and I are meeting up in Manhattan next weekend to see some plays (she's coming in from Boston, me from Seattle). I could use some chowhound advice on our dining and drinking options.

Can you recommend a nice bar (nothing too boisterous) in midtown where we can rendezvous?

For dinner that night we were thinking of either The Spotted Pig or Momofuku (we'll end up in the East Village for slumber that night). We'd also be interested in a Belgian place (moules et frites) or anything casual and good.

For our remaining two dinners, we're currently thinking of either an early, early dinner at Babbo, Extra Virgin or The Red Cat. I'm trying to figure out if Babbo lives up to the hype (an aside: Mario's father owns a salumeria in Seattle and makes excellent cured meats).

Other candidates are Casa Mono (is this a good tapas place?), Craft or Amma (has it declined w/ the new owners?). After Friday we'll be staying at City Club Hotel so if you know of good places near there we'd be game.

Thanks for considering my numerous questions.
