Sorry for the vague heading. I didn't know how best to describe this. I have been fishing and have cleaned, scaled and cooked my catch. I have purchased live lobster and ended its life either by steaming or by knife prior to cooking.
I am a strong believer in being able to take the life of a creature if I am going to use said creature for sustenance (although I can assure all that I take absolutely no enjoyment in doing so) and also feel that it may give me an even deeper appreciation for the food I consume.
All that being said, is anyone aware of anywhere in the tri-state area (ideally in the 5 boroughs or upstate) which would allow me the opportunity to purchase an entire live animal (chicken, duck, or pig - cow would likely be too much for me to utilize) and show me how to (as humanely as possible) end its life and prepare the animal for cooking?
