Question for the Board: Should we stop talking about Old and New World wine?

zin1953 | Feb 18, 201505:24 AM

I think this is an interesting discussion. "Old World" versus "New World" wine has been a cornerstone of wine discussions over at the past 50 years of my life. It's how I grew up learning about wine generally, about the specific differences between (many) wines.

The link herein is to a blog entry on Decanter's website, with arguments for *both* sides of the issue.

Where do YOU stand? Is it time to "kill" this somewhat artificial construct, or is it still a valuable distinction? Was it ever?
