Restaurants & Bars

Q's Restaurant, Norwalk, CT

SteveSCT | Sep 8, 201408:35 AM     5

I tried a new place this weekend that addresses the lack of solid Asian options in lower FFC. Q's Restaurant on Main Ave in Norwalk (in the original Valencia Luncheria location), offers quality Vietnamese pho in a no-frills space.

The menu is short - 3 varieties of pho (beef, chicken, shrimp) for $8 each, along with $2 appetizers of BBQ and spring rolls. That's about it. My wife and I tried the shrimp and beef pho respectively. My wife felt that hers could have used a little more lemongrass, but we agreed that this was a high quality product as a very reasonable price. The broth was substantial, the noodles had the proper chewiness, and they were generous with the beef and shrimp. We would have preferred Vietnamese summer rolls to the tasty Chinese-style spring roll, but that is a minor quibble.

This isn't a destination worthy restaurant, but it is an excellent value and goes a long way to filling a void in the lower FFC dining scene. Hounds in the Norwalk area should give it a try.
