The Pullman Kitchen, Santa Rosa

Had a very nice dinner here yesterday, Pullman Kitchen is in the space once housed by Syrah back in the day. It has been spruced up some and now has a nice “feel” to the dining room.
It is a fairly limited menu but is nice and varied so there is likely something for everyone.

We started with Fried Green Tomatoes with slices of avocado, radish and tartar sauce. Also had the Warm Monterey Squid Salad with chicories, garbanzo beans and aioli. The tomatoes were fabulous, crisp and sweet contrasting with the tartness of the dressing. The squid salad had very good flavor, squid were tender with crisp greens and tasty beans. Minor quibble, thought the dish could have used a bit more salt.

Entrees were both superb. Roasted Chicken had a crispy skin, yummy pan gravy and absolutely delicious and addicting spinach and parmesan pancakes. Also had Citarra Pasta with Dungeness Crab with chili flakes, lemon and mint which was unique and refreshing. DW is looking online for a similar recipe to make at home. Guess she liked it :)

Service was very good throughout the meal, a gratuity charge of 17% is automatically added to your bill which I think is fine (I actually think it should be higher). Corkage is a mere five dollars which encourages BYO though the wine list has some nice wines at good prices. We brought and enjoyed a 2009 DeBiase RRV Pinot Noir with dinner.
Chef Darren McRonald and staff have impressive resumes and it certainly shows in the end product. If you are in the area, stop in for a delicious and reasonably priced meal.
