$$$$ not a problem: Best Baltimore Cuisine

I just moved to Baltimore from a big city with great restaurants. I'm feeling a little under whelmed so far. I don't mind spending money on dinner, but I'm not limited to only nice/expensive, at all. And I am experimental. I'll eat most anything -- raw or weird is ok with me.
My only requirement: must be in a safe part of town. I'm a single female who tends to eat out alone.
I'm located in d-town Baltimore, so Charles St is a good place to start. But: have car -- will travel.
