The Problem with Arlington Restaurants

I Love Food | Mar 18, 2002 03:24 PM

I live in Arlington, and was just viewing a few Arlington posts on this board. To sum it up, the problem with Arlington, is that it lacks a good bar and grille type establishment. I realize that this is due to the "dry town" thing, but it really is something that the town's restaurant scene could use. There are many great ethnic restaurants. I love Viet Cafe, Ole, Sweet Chili, and have heard wonderful things about Cafe Barrada, although I have not been there. Blue Ribbon is great for take out. But sometimes, I just want a burger and a beer, or plate of nachos - nothing special, but sometimes necessary. I don't mind going to Cambridge or Somerville to get this, but it would be so much better if it was right down the street in Arlington. The Arlington Diner and Friendlys just don't cut it.
