Prime Rib at Room Temperature

k8k8 | Dec 22, 201007:01 AM

I am cooking a 4 rib, 9 pound Prime Rib on Xmas and need to bring it to room temperature.
The problem is that I will be out of the house for 6-7 hours that day and I am wondering if that is too long for it to be left out of the fridge. (I know most information recommends 2-3 hours)

Any suggestions/ experiences? If it is too long, is there a faster way to bring to room temp when I return? I was thinking of soaking in a warm water but am worried that it will ruin the flavor or texture.

Thank you!
