Pre-New Jersey Marathon Eats--Red Bank?

Esteban | Apr 19, 2004 12:33 PM

Traveling down from Jackson Heights, Queens for the NJ Marathon in Long Branch on Sunday the 25th. Staying near Red Bank, and am looking for a place to eat the night before. Some notes. While I am normally a very adventurous eater, the night before a marathon is not the time to venture into anyting potentially problematic, especially considering the fear of wasting four months of training--carbs are good, but nothing that will potentially cause any gastrointestinal issues. Also, I'll be with the whole family (inc. two kids, 2 1/2 and 6) so no place too fancy and it should have something that they might eat. No chain restaurants, if at all possible. Is it conceivable that such a place exists in the Long Branch region?
