Little Prague in Davis

DH and I had an appt. in Davis last night and didn't get to go to dinner until 8:30 or so. Knowing we would most likely be eating late I did some research on line and through friends for places that served good food after 9:00 and discovered that Little Prague (a czech restaurant) fit the bill. We were very happy with our choice. After a long stressful week we were in serious need of comfort food, so schnitzels and goulashs sounded extremely appealing. I ordered the trout with garlic and caraway and DH had the pork schnitzel and we both chose the brussel sprout soup to start. All the choices were really good, the trout was moist and well seasoned w/out being overpowered by the garlic and the schnitzel was just like my grandfather made when I was a kid. The ambience was very old world and welcoming. We both found the place very charming and look forward to trying dessert next time as they had quite an array.

I am glad that in a world of exotic and upscale cuisines (which I love) that old fashioned home style cooking is still available to enjoy.
