Best Poutine?

dongstadden | Jul 1, 2004 06:24 PM

hey there folks,

some friends and i are heading up to montreal this weekend for the jazzfest. we'll be staying at the 'abri du voyageur' downtown. we've been to montreal once before, but one of the things i didn't get to try was the beloved poutine. what would be the best place within walking distance for poutine? i remember seeing a frites place in the undergound mall that sold it, is that any good? the other thing i didn't get to last time was dim sum at 'kam fong' in chinatown. i'll try and hit that saturday.

btw, some of the places i did do last time were 'au pied de cochon', schwartz's, deer garden, and witloof for moules frites. is there somewhere closer for moules frites? also, i've been reading alot of posts here about toque. is that walking distance from voyageur, and is it worth the money? oh well, it may be impossible to get a reservation for this weekend anyways.

any other recs in the area would be welcome, of course. including old montreal.
