Well, we are snowed in today with 14 in expected here in Central Ohio. I have a 4 lb. 7 bone chuck roast and plans to invite some neighbors with kids for dinner tonight, as we certainly aren't venturing out. Usually do my pot roast with sauteed onions, beef stock, red wine, garlic, rosemary and bay leaf. Looking for something different. Our pantry is pretty well stocked, but won't be able to run out and buy any new ingredients (even the malls are closed here!). Will be serving some chips with homemade guacamole, salad, pot roast, some kind of potato, carrots w/ butter & brown sugar, and probably brownies for dessert (will be making dessert too). Any suggestions for new version of pot roast or decadent dessert recipe with typical pantry staples? Thanks!
