Post Wedding Lunch for Mixed Tastes (but still fancy)

IrisSphere | Jan 15, 201511:06 AM     14

Hi everyone!

I am looking at a restaurant to host my post wedding lunch or dinner for about 20-25 people (including some kids) in Toronto. I've read quite a few threads on the same topics (thank you search button!), and have already contacted a few places: Splendido, George, Nota Bene. We are looking to spend no more than $2500 for everything (probably will have to be lunch, and possibly our own wine with corkage..).

My question to you all lovely people is this - though my fiance and I looove to eat well, and really enjoy fine dining, I am afraid my and his more conservative family might be a bit uncomfortable with small portions, and "fancy" presentation.

If you've eaten at the ones I mention, what are your thoughts? Is there a risk people will leave hungry? Alternatively, if you could recommend another place that can accommodate our group (with a private or semi-private area) and fancy but "accessible" food, that would be great. I should mention, Le Select is also on the list so far (though not sure how the food compares).

Thanks again!
