I'm pointing out this (positive) review of the small restaurant Poulet portugais (Portuguese Chicken), on St-Jean in Québec City, as it has been mentioned on the board before as a budget option in that town where good budget options are rare. http://www.pouletportugais.net/ http://www.ledevoir.com/art-de-vivre/...
The owner is Bulgarian (and lived in Portugal for four years) and they now have a chef from Venezuela. Already very cosmopolitan for Québec City. It is a byow. On rue St-Jean, in Saint-Jean-Baptiste, the old upper-town district just outside the old city walls.
No, I haven't eaten there yet. I have friends in Québec who have.
According to the review and their Facebook page, they now have octopus, and (facebook page) paella. Unfortunately, not vegetarian-friendly.
