Portable induction plate recommendations

JohnLearnsToCook | Jan 20, 202106:34 AM     2

After many happy years with my Bosch induction hob, I have moved countries and until my wife and I find a place to buy (which may be a few years, as it depends on how well kids settle at school), I need to get a portable induction plate.

For a long time I would read peoples' complaints about how uneven induction cooking was, and I quite frankly never understood it. Granted, I had great cookware, but I didn't realise how much of a part my induction hob played. With the same cookware in a rental accommodation, the induction cooktop is barely useable. Anything above power setting 6, and there's an instant black ring on whatever I use. I used to mostly use my old hob's centre ring, which was made up of 3 induction coils at 16cm, 24 cm, and 32 cm.

So, I now need a replacement, and I have a wishlist that I hope has a match somewhere out there.

1) Must be 220V
2) Must be available in Europe
3) Ideally something that can handle pans up to 40cm
4) Is even heating, so a multi element design
5) Is powerful, but not so powerful that it needs 380 V, 3 phase power
6) Has more than 9 power settings.
7) Is reliable.

Everything else (price, design, weight, cost, and features) isn't particularly important to me.
