La Portabello, Route 112 South of 347 in a strip mall - kind of an upscale pizzeria with a family style restaurant in the back. Very good. Large menu. Busy. Solid service. Reasonable prices.
Full Moon Cafe - 25A sort of opposite the PJ LIRR station.
same kind of place as above. Huge portions. Very good food. Reasonably priced too. Some of the best fried calamari ever.
Orlando II / Mauricios - on LI, where we have no shortage of Italians or Italian restaurants, there's no reason for mediocre to exist let alone be as popular as this place is. From the outside and inside it looks like you're gonna be in a solid family style restaurant. Forget it.
I can only figure that the regulars have slowly lost their taste-buds at the same rate as the kitchen staff. The saltiest food I think I've every eaten. Everything was weak. Only the dessert wasn't salty and only the cappuccino was excellent. I'd rather have Dominoes, the wooden kind.
