Pork tenderloin in fridge over a week?

I cooked a Hillshire Farms pork tenderloin tonight - it didn't have much of a smell (smelled like kinda sour raw meat up close), didn't appear slimy (although may have been, I try not to touch raw meat much, so hard to say) cooked it to medium, tasted fine I think (though it was heavily seasoned). My concern is that it had been in the fridge for a good week or more - I was going by the "use by" date which is still a couple weeks away. But now I'm worried!! Should I have just throw it away?
