When I was a kid in New Orleans in the late 1970s I used to eat Popeyes chicken on TV. You'd get up really early on Saturday and have this Popeyes picnic outside a Popeyes restaurant. You'd watch the cartoon and then during the commercial break they'd interview all the kids on camera.
Then in NYC in the late 1980's I used to go to the Popeyes in Times Square. They were always deserted but had the best red beans and rice. Back then it came in these huge cups the size of big gulps for just a few dollars.
For the past few years I've lived near the worst Popeyes Chicken in L.A. -- at Ventura and Vineland in Studio City. Bad service. Food's never available. Once they even tried to serve me a biscuit that I saw them drop.
Where's the best Popeyes in L.A.?
