I tried to make popcorn on the stove today but only 1/4 of the kernels popped. It is supposed to be good quality popcorn.
Here is what I did. I put a few tbspns of canola oil in pot. Heated it on medium/high for half a minute or so. Put kernels in oil to cover 3/4 of the bottom, and then covered with lid. Only 1/4 of the kernels popped. Any ideas why? Was the oil not hot enough? I waited for a few minutes . The few cooked kernels I had were delicious!
