Poc Chuc, yum - anything similar down on the Peninsula?

We were in the city today on a rare occasion so I dragged my family to Poc Chuc and everyone was extremely please. We had the very well braised and flavorful pollo pibil and the poc chuc was also tasty. Panucho was good, the salbute I would probably pass on next time, and all loved the empanadas, but I only got one taste. Black beans were great. Kids ate the turkey tacos and empanadas. I would have liked some pickled onions and more habenero salsa with my chicken, but other than that we were very pleased. They refilled the fresh handmade tortillas frequently. The price for all that, a yummy, but very sweet horchata, was $35.

So, we never get up to the city and we need a place like this down south. We like taquerias and all, but I want regional authentic sit down Mexican. Something without cheese and crema smothering everything. So what is there out there? We live in Palo Alto, and there has got to be something besides good taquerias around here. We haven't found it yet.
