Places to eat w/kids and advice on activities

Coming to NYC for Fri-Sun with 9 and 3 year old - Annie tix Friday night. Staying at Westin Grand Central, and then Rockettes Xmas tix Sat. a.m. Looking for places to eat that aren't completely out of the way and won't be obnoxious about kids. We lived in San Francisco for 10+ years, so are foodies and our kids are used to eating out (they don't eat chicken tenders and pizza).

We love Thai, noodles, latino food and all things not American chain restaurant.

Have a reservation for Max Brenner on Sat. night but seeing some reviews it's not worth it.

Also interested in opinions on whether Dylan's Candy Bar is worth a peek, whether FAO Schwartz should be skipped, and if a stroll to look at Bergdorf's, Bloomies and Macy's windows are worth it. Trying to fit a lot in but don't want to drag the whole group to places that will be lame and touristy. We are all well traveled and won't stand in line for an hour to get into a candy store, if you know what I mean. Please help!
