My husband, nine year old daughter, and I will be going to his mother's in CT for Christmas. My father-in-law died of cancer very recently. Normally, my mother-in-law is insistent on preparing dinner at her house, and a couple of my husband's elderly aunts attend as well. I have been suggesting to my husband that we try to take her out somewhere for the meal. I just feel that a change of scenery would benefit everyone. Anyway, my husband and I are fairly adventurous eaters, my mother-in-law is somewhat, and my daughter is a typical kid- pasta, pasta, pasta. Someplace with atmosphere, such as an inn might be nice, but I'd be open to many ideas, and distance isn't a big issue. Thanks in advance.
