I was watching a favorite movie of mine the other night ("Pecker" by John Waters) which is based in the Hampden area of Baltimore. One section of the movie is about the grandma in the family having a pit beef stand, and it made me wonder "Are there really pit beef stands in Baltimore neighborboods"?
So, to my fellow hounds in Bal-mer, where are the good places in town to get pit beef? Is pit beef like a slow-roasted brisket? I want to find this culinary gem (while also exploring Baltimore, which I've done little in my many years in the area).
