Had dinner for the first time at the aforementioned restaurant a few weeks ago. Had read very good press about it. The owner waited on us. We made our appetizer and entree selections shortly after being seated. Both of us ordered the halibut with pink peppercorns and grilled figs off of their regular dinner menu. There was also a halibut special that evening with mango chutney. After waiting an hour after finishing our appetizers for the entrees to arrive, we were served the halibut with the mango chutney! Since neither of us likes the taste of mango, we sent the entrees back. The owner came over to apologize saying she simply wrote "halibut" on the order when she delivered it to the kitchen. She wrote down our original order and left the table. She came back 10 minutes later to inform us the reason we got the halibut with the mango chutney was because the kitchen had run out of figs so in fact, the halibut on the regular menu was not available to us. She then asked if we wanted the halibut simply grilled and unadorned. We told her we would prefer a dressing of some sort. She suggested an orange champagne sauce which was on the menu as a accompaniment to the salmon. We were not given the option of choosing another entree since she said they just put two pieces of halibut on the stove. 25 minutes later, the halibut entrees were delivered. The orange champagne sauce did not compliment the halibut and the fish was only so-so. We didn't say a thing. I might add that the price of each entree was $23. Because of her mishap with the order, we received our entrees 1 1/2 hours after being seated. When she came by to deliver the check, she told us because of the long delay and the fact she was not specific in terms of placing the order and did not know the kitchen was out of figs, she would deduct my glass of iced tea and a glass of wine from the check! We will never go back nor can we recommend this restaurant due to the non-chalant and uncaring attitude of the owner. Never before have we experienced such bad service.
