Pimientos de Padron at Prezza

Now that Prezza is open on Sundays, we decided it would be a great place to watch the game this past weekend. What a great time we had, comfortable and cozy with plenty of room at the bar, chatting with the friendly staff on a slow night, and delicious food and adult beverages to match - will definitely be spending more Sundays here. Lisa, formerly of Copia, took good care of us. And I was doubly happy to see the menu with lots of new items, including some past favorites such as the roasted oysters with radicchio and mascarpone, and pimientos de Padron - those addictive Spanish peppers sauteed with oil and sprinkled with salt that they serve as tapas in Spain (StriperGuy, I know you're as big a fan of these as I am!) I just love these and, in fact, ate two orders myself (oomph). Other new highlights were the minestrone soup with shrimp and chickpeas, fava, and cranberry beans, the pumpkin ravioli with lobster, mascarpone and browned butter, and the juicy wood-grilled bone-in prime tenderloin with truffle tater tots. Things we didn't get to try, but caught my eye for return visits - fresh tagliatelle with rabbit and mushrooms, crispy pork cutlet with vinegar peppers, and wood-grilled venison with bacon-red wine glaze, pumpkin crepe, and salsify puree.
