Phoenix Dumpling House . . . revisited

Paul Tyksins | Aug 20, 2003 10:58 PM

Yo was right when he said: "If you want Xiao Lung Bao [soup dumplings] ... you've got to go to the Phoenix Dumpling House."

As much as I'm an advocate of Ed's Potsticker House, Phoenix blows them away when it comes to soup dumplings.

Finally, more than passable XLB have come to Chicago!!!
The Phoenix dumpling is loaded, relatively speaking to Moon Palace and Ed's, with soup.

It's #7 on the Shanghai dim sum menu and goes by "Steamed Juicy Dumpling w/ Minced Pork and Ginger."

I told the matron how much better her dumplings were than Moon Palace or Ed's. She said, "Nothing compared to China, but best in Chicago."
