PHObulous "the Least of the Westside Phos" Report

JudiAU | Oct 28, 200402:39 PM

I tried it this week for take out. Nicely packed to go, included condiments, etc. Surprisingly large amount of meat.

Broth was suspiciously deeply colored. May be Carmel coloring. Oddly sweet. Not much taste of spice. I am not positive they are using a "base" of some sort but I sincerely doubt they are making it totally from scratch. Very disappointing.

I would call this "the Least of the Westside Phos." The new place on Sawtelle was better.

Edible, though, and cheap.

An option if all of the following criteria are met: It is raining, you are poor and hungry, you have a cold, it is on your way home, and you want to watch Red Sox attempt to break their curse.

The menu offered vegetarian and chicken versions.
