I've been trying to find someplace for lunch in Berkeley with consistenly decent beef pho. I've tried the place in the north side food court (actully the tendon is pretty good, but the star anise is too powerful), in the south side food court (hit or miss, last two times have been no good, with chewy beef round that I think was added already cooked and something was weird with the tripe), Le Petit Cheval (broth was good, but offer no meat except for the round and chicken), Le Saigon near the downtwon BART station (I had lunch there today and it was plain awful, the broth tasted like it was made with powdered beef bouillon cubes and decided that enough is enough, I bailed and went to Top Dog). Help! My office is in Evans Hall, so walking distance to campus is a plus, but I'm willing to take AC Transit. Or is it hopeless?
