I had a pretty dreadful lunch at Pho Grand today on Grand St. in Chinatown. Summer rolls with shrimp that tasted a bit off came with an even blander than usual peanut dipping sauce (everything would have benefitted from a hit of fish sauce).
A main course of lemongrass squid was rubbery and stringy. The insult to all of this injury was a bug that was poured out of the tea pot into my cup. The waitress said "oops" took it away and brought me back a glass of water and said "accept this with our compliments". Oi Vey! I think you can eat much better for less at Vietnam on Doyers.
