DC, Aimee, Rich, Cara, K(l) - many thanks for all your suggestions for Pittsburgh dining. Actually went to Church Brew Pub (our waitress was a former parishioner!), fish sandwich and pulled pork were very good - terribly disappointed no onion rings on the menu! - Bikki in Shadyside was very good food, but ambience a bit chilly - offset by marvelously friendly service (albeit a bit rough around edges) Had a drink at Grandview Saloon to say farewell Pgh., and then hit Kaya - an appetizer sampler was lovely, but couldn't persuade us dinner would be missed - so trundled over to Roland's - calamari was very tender if a bit heavy on batter. (Big fans of appetizer sampling at several places, so as to experience more kitchens). Also had very old-fashioned, Pgh.-style Italian at Nigro's in E. Pgh. (or maybe Versailles) - with a glass of chianti it was quintessential Pgh. Again, many thanks - would have been completely lost without Chowhound input!
