Had been a fan of Petsi's pecan pie for years but had not brought one for a while until last Sunday.
It was packed when we stepped in the store. While we were in line, we saw an unhappy couple complaining that they were given a wrong order. I did not see any traces of Renee and it seems that it is run by a few younger Caucasians.
When I got close to the counter, I noticed that the pecan pie looked different. We decided to get one anyway as we came all the way here.
As you may see from the picture, the crust is not hand-pressed and just looks like those we can get from the supermarket. Is Petsi's pecan pie crust always like that?
Even the filling and the pecan are better than average, the crust does not live up to my expectation.
I don't think I will spend another $19 on the pecan pie from Petsi.
Do you have the same experience? Should I blame the publicity brought by Phantom Gourmet to the store?
