Pete's Cafe in Downtown LA

Reviewed quite accurately in the LA Weekly today. I agree that the blue cheese fries are sinful, the burger is wonderful and the tomato soup is possibly the best thing on the menu (it's actually a soup du jour). The steak that I had was quite tasty and tender, but the service being super slow is right on the money. It's nice to dine al fresco, but not when you have to go back inside to search for a waiter. The food takes a while to come to the table, and after it is dropped off, you'll never see a waiter again. Hope the owner takes note of this review and tries to remedy the situation. The food and atmosphere are very good, and I'd hate to see slow service be the reason for failure.
