Peter Luger

I've moved this from a posting on the Manhattan Board. Nero wrote, "I have never ever had steak like this...Just order the Porterhouse for 2, 3 or 4 and be prepared for the most amazing steak experience ever. This blows the other famous steakhouses (S&W, Old Homestead, G&T) out of the water (field?) as far as I am concerned."

I went to Peter Luger's last Tuesday and my steak just didn't compare to past visits. My friend and I ordered the porterhouse for two, medium rare (is there any other way?) The steak didn't have a good char, it came out looking like something that was done in my cheap apt. broiler and the meat lacked the great metallic tang I associate with aged beef.

The chocolate mousse cake was delicious but the steak was a dissapointment. I'll be back but one more steak like this and I'm putting out a down-hill alert.
