Finally have a chance to relate my experience in the dining room portion of Pepperoncini in Conshie last Wednesday.
First of all, we made a reservation for 7pm but it was not necessary. Granted, we were not the only diners, but it wasn't as mobbed as others had said on Thursday or the weekend.
Four of us had, the Scallop dish, the Veal Oscar, the Pancetta Pasta and the Rigatoni with Sausage. The last two were generous portions and there was quite a bit of meat in both. The prices were quite reasonable at $13.
However, the Scallops and the veal were both extremely good (these were a bit higher priced at around $18 and $23 respectively). However, the portions were generous and the scallops were pronounced the best ever by my father in-law (and he now lives in Rhode Island where there is plenty of seafood).
We also had the soup of the day as a starter (that day it was chicken Escarole).
I also liked how they put olive oil and more of that Conshohocken Bakery bread out instead of the usual butter packets.
I will keep going back to this place as it is quite cheap and very good for the kind of casual place it is aiming to be.
One thing, if you don't like smoke sit in the farthest part of the dining room away from the sports bar (it really doesn't bother me but it could be a problem). I was also glad when they turned the radio off and put the juke box on because the commercials were very annoying. The juke box is quite acceptable even if a tad loud for some people.
