Pellicano Ristorante

edible complex | Jun 2, 2008 08:42 PM

For an unbelievable dining experience, head out to Kenner..you heard me...Pellicano Ristorante is not to be missed. For starters, try the:

Jumbo Lump Crab
Sweet crab wrapped in crispy filo with Meyer lemon zest and grilled red onion-champagne-avocado vinaigrette

Black Bay Oysters Carnivale
Fried in a buttermilk-cornmeal batter with a crispy cucumber-apple salad, bacon shards, and saffron aioli

Duck Confit Spring Roll
Wild mushrooms, caramelized leeks, toasted pine nuts, and pomegranate reduction

For entrees:

Caribbean Lobster
Poached tender in butter, with lemon grass-asparagus-crab succotash, lemon verbena-roasted garlic mashed potatoes, and roasted fennel vinaigrette

Muscovy Duck Breast
Pan-seared and served with roasted corn-andouille relish, sweet potato matchsticks, and a fig-bourbon glaze

And if the lamb chops are a special....do it!

For dessert, Chef Cody's Rum Soaked Banana and White Chocolate Bread Pudding
with silky coconut milk sorbet and chocolate caramel and housemade ice creams are delicious. But my favorite was the appetizer of Brie wrapped in puff pastry with blueberries and balsamic reduction for dessert.

Service is impeccable. The wine list is impressive. You won't be disappointed.
