PDX - Pix Patisserie

After Noble Rot on Saturday night, we decided to go to Pix for dessert and drinks.

So many amazing dessert choices and the wine and beer list is huge. Unfortunately, the place isn't huge, it's very small, so it is often very busy on weekend nights. Our starting early paid off, though and because we got there before 10pm, we were able to be seated when we arrived.

We ordered: Tart Ménage á Trois ~ Almond cream, chocolate ganache, and orange vanilla bean crème brulée in a buttery tart shell; Tiki-Tiki ~ mango/passionfruit mousse with coconut meringue and almond cake; Ichabod Creme ~ crisp crust filled with spiced almond cream and pecans, golden caramel, topped off with a pumpkin creme brulee; and a scoop of pumpkin pie ice cream.

Everything was amazing - the ice cream was wonderfully creamy and spiced like a pie, the tiki was light as a feather with a fruity kick; the Ichabod and Menage just rich and buttery and creamy.

We had a great bottle of Banyuls that was sweet without being viscous and cloying and didn't fight the chocolate. YUM!

I highly recommend that when you go here, you go with at least 2 other people. You can try more things and not slip into a diabetic coma...
