My daughter and I are making an encore, 3 nt. visit at the end of August. Last year, among other meals out, it was Town Hall for a dinner (la nina got to go back in the kitchen with the super maitre d'and make her dessert) and Chez Panisse for a late lunch (there, she got to make her own pizza). Her manners are quite good, but her palate is not adventurous.

This year's goal #1: for me, visiting SF's finest adherents to the fresh, local, seasonal mantra. For my daughter, the safe items: a burger, chicken strips or pizza; steak as a back up. Are there places in the City or not too distant neighborhoods that will make both of us happy? We will be reliant on feet, public transport and taxis and are staying at the Argonaut, fwiw. (Bonus points if dress is not a big deal.)

Goal #2: I want kick ass dim sum, especially with a focus on sea food. (I could give the child a soda and a bowl of rice or noodles, if I have to, but it wouldn't hurt if there was something she might eat; a tall order I suspect, but I had to ask).

Thx much.
