Just tried a great dessert tonight at Wildwood and thought I'd post on it since it's seasonal:
Sweet potato & pumpkin fritters with gingersnap ice cream and maple roasted apples ($5.75). There were about six doughnut hole sized fritters tossed in cinnamon sugar. Each was light and wonderful, maybe a bit overwhelmed by the cinnamon sugar, but really good anyway. The ice cream indeed tasted like ginger snaps. My wife loved dipping the fritters in the melting custard. The roasted apples were on the side and topped with -- exactly what, I'm not sure -- perhaps dried apples that were candied sort of, but not so sweet. I don't know. Just know that the whole damn thing was great and very appropriate for the upcoming holiday season. The only bad thing about this dish was that it wasn't mine.
