Pavani Indian Restaurant - Skip it!

Stewart | Jul 2, 2003 10:52 AM

I'm a big fan of Indian food. My favorite Indian restaurant in town is Bombay Palace on Westheimer near Mid Lane. (My ALL-TIME favorite is in London - ask me if you're going to be there!) I had heard that Pavani was really good, so I gave it a try. Pavani just re-opened on the feeder road of 59 South, just inside Beltway 8.

Bad. Not worth the trip. I went for lunch and had the buffet (who knows, maybe menu dining is better). I can't see how ANYONE would rate this place higher than Bombay Palace (or any other Indian place in town). All of the dishes were either SIGNIFICANTLY over or under salted. I liked the cheese in the saag paneer, but it was too watery. The naan was fresh, and brought hot to my table when a fresh batch came up, but that didn't make up for the rest of the food.

Anyone else eat at Pavani? Agree? Disagree?
