pastured meat animal share (hog/beef)

oaklandfoodie | Dec 17, 201401:41 PM     3

I searched through the archives and the most recent discussion on this topic are pretty old. So, I'm looking for options of a meat share. We had a split half through Chileno Valley for a few years, and we were pretty happy although the meat sometimes had a fishy quality to it. I'm familiar with Marin Sun's meat CSA and Riverdog's pork boxes. We have a large freezer, so I'm looking for a half hog or so to be more economical. Is anyone particularly happy with a farm they have purchased from? Thanks for sharing.
