I still like Tabatchnicks - Millburn NJ and Eppesessen in Livingston (I must admit I haven't been to Eppessesan in a few years. I still like 2nd Avenue Deli equally...
Unfortunately, I only get to get their "sloppy joes" when there's a death in the family and we sit shiva at someones home. (They're totally different from the ground meat version everyone's familiar with. It's like a seven layer cake only made out of very thin rye bread, deli meats, russian dressing and coleslaw)yumm.
There was a place in Union called Kartzmans which is long gone but always good... Also, note that I prefer my pastrami (and corned beef) on the fatty as opposed to lean side.
