Pastis is hands down my favorite, dark, romantic, inexpensive place to go

For those who have not been, it’s a charming little provencal bistro on Beverly - last weekend the SO & I split the mussels in garlic-and-shallots, soup of the day which was a rich cauliflower and the salmon, they will split anything n/c – really nice wine list with a good selection <$30, and not loser’s either, nice little bordeaux, spanish, italian, chileian, many very drinkable. The various breads are fresh and good and the tapenade is addicting. Service is good enough and they have great outside seating with wall mounted heat lamps – when it’s warm the front of the place can be opened so the whole restaurants is sort of open air – candlelight’s & flowers everywhere and a tab of $ 70 otd and I am one happy camper.
