Every year I have a fairly big holiday party. It used to be a Sunday afternoon, mostly sweet affair, but this year it is Saturday evening. In addition to cookies and a croquembouche, I would like to have a variety of hors d'oeuvres. I have a few stalwart items from the usual menu--husband's spicy meatballs, my sausage rolls--but am on the lookout for interesting new things. In particular, I am interested in savory items that can, preferably, be made a day or two ahead, and that keep a few hours at room temp.
