Park Bistro (brief)

After hearing good things about Park Bistro on this board, I gave the restaurant a try last night and was decidedly underwhelmed, especially for the price ($130 w/tip). To be sure, the space is nice and the service was extremely pleasant (except for the 20 min wait for the check at the end of the meal), but the food was just disappointing. Started w/two salad appetizers (mesclun salad and watercress and endive salad), which weren't particularly memorable--but salads never are. Entrees were monkfish for me and veal for my boyfriend. The monkfish was unpleasantly tough and chewy. According to my bf, the veal chop was grisly and fatty. The warm chocolate tart we shared for dessert was good, but it's hard to screw up chocolate (at least in my book). I don't think I'll be back.
