Help me help my parents

nomadfromcincy | May 20, 2004 04:35 PM

I am a Boston hound without much knowledge of the Las Vegas dining world. My mom asked me to help her find two restaurants where she could make reservations with my dad and some of their friends. My parents are adventurous eaters, but their friends aren't. Let me give you some info on what they would like:

Cuisine - French, New American, or Italian
Where - On the strip or a short cab ride from the strip. Probably staying at Caesar's
Price - middle-range. I can recommend the high-priced places, but I'd like to recommend a couple less pricey options.
Good service is important to one of the diners - not white glove, but professional and attentive
Wine - does not need to be a oenophile paradise...just some good choices.
Decor does not need to be fancy, but they probably wouldn't enjoy a dive (goes along with the service preference).

Is Pamplemousse a good reco? Is Andre's too pricey?

Thank you.
