papusas in park slope

I finally found that certain something that has been lacking in my life since I moved back to NY from San Francisco: papusas (Salvadoran tortilla pancakes stuffed with cheese and/or pork). Los Chorros (5th Ave. b/t Bergen and Dean) makes excellent ones. The decor is to say the least nothing to rave about, but at $1.25 each (2-3 papusas will fill you up) you certainly will feel like you got your money's worth. And the cole slaw Los Chorros serves (papusas are eaten with cole slaw -- the Salvadoran kind, no mayo) is infused with a bit of hot sauce -- tangy and delicious! I can still taste them from yestersay. Mmmmmmm...
